The Hy-Vee High School Game of the Week airs each Friday at 7 PM on Metro Sports during the school year. It also replays throughout the weekend. The Hy-Vee Game of the Week features the top teams and top contests in the area in football, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, baseball, soccer and other sports.

Kevin Wike holds down the play-by-play responsibilities. For football color commentary, Metro Sports turns to former Chiefs player Rich Baldinger; former North Carolina and Kansas player Doug Elstun takes the mic during basketball season.

The 3rd Annual Metro Sports Volleyball Slam takes place on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. James Academy (Lenexa, KS). This event features some of the top volleyball teams in the Midwest. The field contains two state champions from last season (St. James Academy, Topeka Washburn Rural) as well as three state runners-up (Blue Valley North, St. Pius X, Lee's Summit West).
